Cigarettes

Comprehensive Testing for Cigarette Smoke and Filler

Overview

Our cigarette testing methods include the analysis of TNCO (tar, nicotine, carbon monoxide), the list of Hoffmann analytes, the abbreviated list of 20 FDA HPHCs, and the full list of FDA HPHCs (along with McKinney’s testing partners). We perform the ISO and Health Canada Intense (CI / CINT) smoking regimes:

  • ISO Regime: 35mL/2sec/60sec – with 5 cigarettes per sample
  • CINT Regime: 55mL/2sec/30sec – with 3 cigarettes per sample and vent holes covered

We also offer supporting services for cigarettes such as:

  • In Vitro Toxicology
  • Ignition Propensity (LIP / IP) for Fire Safe Cigarette (FSC) testing
  • Filter Efficiency
  • Physical Parameters
  • Limited methods for whole cigarette and/or cigarette butt testing

Testing Details

Our combustible smoke and cigarette filler testing services fulfill the requirements of:
  • Health Canada
  • FDA (USA) 2012 Abbreviated HPHC Testing
  • FDA (USA) Substantial Equivalence SE Testing
  • Ignition Propensity (LIP) – ASTM Method E2187-09, ISO Standard 12863
